Rebar and the Alvord Lake Bridge

Do you have a love one or a friend that wonders what we do all day as engineers?  There is a self-described “tiny radio show” that highlights design, architecture, and behind-the-scenes activities that shape our world, called “99% Invisible”.    Here is a link to a show that examines rebar, concrete, and what it all means…. It sounds a little dry, I admit, but at just under 12 minutes, it is an interesting listen and even references a structure in Cincinnati, OH!

Episode 81: Rebar and the Alvord Lake Bridge

During the renovation project of Metcalf Street Bridge, where KK performed construction inspection, we came across the square deformed rebar discussed in the show.
