Project Description

SEN-C.R. 33-3.66, Construction Inspection

Owner: Seneca County, Ohio Engineer
Construction Cost: $2,407,000

Construction administration and inspection of a bridge replacement project for the Seneca County Engineer. A new bridge was constructed over the Sandusky River on new tangent alignment. (The existing alignment featured sharp curves to align the roadway to the location of an old steel truss bridge.) The proposed bridge was a 4-span prestressed concrete I-beam superstructure with a reinforced concrete deck, composite design. The Sandusky River is classified as a State Scenic River and therefore involved coordination with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Daily on-site inspection was provided to document and verify the work of the contractor.
