ALL – Spencerville Streetscape
Owner: Village of Spencerville, Ohio
Construction Cost: $953,000
Reconstruction and aesthetic enhancements along S.R. 66 (Broadway Street) in the Village of Spencerville from Second St. to Fourth St. This project provided a new asphalt surface course, curb and gutter, storm drainage, sidewalks with brick pavers, trees, shrubs, benches, street lighting, a town clock, and an information center at the Miami and Erie Canal. The information center was constructed overlooking the canal and included five plaques that contained historical information about the canal and Village of Spencerville. The length of work was 1015 feet.
- Broadway Street was narrowed to provide wider sidewalks for pedestrian use
- Existing angled parking was revised to parallel parking
- Project administration required detailed coordination with a local landscape architectural firm who designed the landscaping and other hardscape aesthetic treatments
- Project administration also required coordination with an electrical engineer for new light poles, decorative ground flood lights, and lighted bollards
